IT Project Managers lead and manage large, complex, cross-functional projects that address technical, infrastructure, or general business initiatives. IT Project Managers must understand the complexities at each stage of development to effectively direct teams, assign workloads, and produce realistic timelines. IT Project Managers often obtain ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications.
Business Analysts identify operational business requirements through gathering data and utilizing reporting tools and then translate those needs to members of the IT team. Business Analysts ensure the technical solutions match the needs throughout the implementation process.
Business Architects lead the design discussion between Business Analysts and Developers and direct Quality Assurance to ensure functional and non-functional objectives are captured, understood fully, and implemented accurately. This role tends to bridge executive management and technical teams.
Solution Architects design the blueprint for the technical objectives and software development brought up by Business Analysts and Business Architects. They develop and map the system requirements needed to align the intended goals with a functional result.
Developers write and maintain code for software. Common programming languages developers use are JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, Java, and SQL. Developers are the “boots on the ground” enacting the changes or new objectives identified by the Analysts and Architects.
Database Administrators are responsible for creating and organizing systems to store and utilize data efficiently. They install, configure, maintain, and secure enterprise databases. They also conduct troubleshooting and data recovery when needed.
IT Helpdesk is the customer service of the IT world, responsible for providing technical support to the end user of applications and systems. The IT Helpdesk departments are experts in the user interface of a software or program and work directly with consumers to resolve an error or provide direction for how to accomplish a task.
Network Engineers are responsible for maintaining the company's voice, data and network infrastructure. The Network Engineer designs, builds, and troubleshoots ethernet circuits utilizing routing protocols. This role will monitor and maintain networks to ensure high-availability, scalability, and resiliency.
Data Analysts provide reports, analysis, and recommendations regarding business performance by utilizing advanced knowledge of data mining, data warehouse structures, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytic tools. Data Analysts must import, clean, transform, and model data into actionable intel.
